Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Lynup ("we", "us", or "our") is a beta-stage live music social app operated by Swartz Group LLC ("Swartz Group", "the Company"). Lynup is a DBA (doing business as) of Swartz Group LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Lynup you agree to the practices described here.

Because we're in beta, features and data practices may evolve. We'll update this policy when they do and note the revision date above.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (stored as a secure hash). During onboarding you may provide a display name, username, city, phone number, music genre preferences, and a profile photo. Your phone number is optional and unverified — it is used only to help match you with contacts who are also on Lynup.

Activity data

We record which events you mark as "Going", "Interested", or "Attended", comments you leave, reactions, direct messages, and any venues you suggest. This data is what powers your feed and social features.

Contacts (optional)

If you choose to import contacts, your device sends us a list of phone numbers. We compare those numbers against our user database to find mutual connections and then discard the raw list — we do not store your contacts on our servers, share them with third parties, or use them to contact anyone on your behalf.

Usage information

We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, timestamps) to operate and improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To power social features — showing which friends are attending events, surfacing relevant shows in your feed, and matching you with contacts.
  • To send transactional emails (password resets, account notices). We do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
  • To improve Lynup based on how people use it.
  • To investigate abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure providers — Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting) process data on our behalf under their own data processing agreements.
  • Other users — your username, display name, profile photo, and event activity are visible to other Lynup users according to the app's normal social features.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. During the beta period, we may periodically reset or purge data as we iterate on the service — we will notify users before any such reset via email.

5. Your Rights

You can update your profile information at any time in the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at hello@lynup-music.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Children

Lynup is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level database security. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability please contact us responsibly at hello@lynup-music.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We'll post updates here and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Lynup after changes constitutes acceptance.
